Soil is the source of 90% of all food produced on Earth. It is the cornerstone of nature, our homes and our future.
We started Agri Soil in 2023, having run our family farming business in the Nene Valley for 3 generations.
After spending years trying to improve yield farming conventionally, we started looking at ways to work with nature to maximise productivity. For us, that meant starting with the soil.
The best place to start. Looking at pH and levels of key nutrients can help identify major deficiencies in the soil in a cost-effective way.
Also, you have to do it. Since 2018 it has been a legal requirement to test all arable soils for basic nutrients every 5 years.
Levelling up. For those looking to deep dive on certain areas, or ultimate soil nerds, looking at essential trace elements, key ratios and cation exchange capacity can help identify further opportunities for improvement.
Not sure if it’s for you? We can work with you to highlight areas where you may benefit from more detailed testing.
Organic matter remains a key indicator of soil health. We can help design a sampling plan that gives you a target to work towards in improving your soil whilst remaining cost effective
If you were one of the lucky ones that got your SFI application in, we offer SAM1 testing that meets the requirements.
Carbon credits – sometimes it seems it’s all anyone can talk about.
But there’s lots of reasons to test your soil for carbon, whether your customers need it for audits, you’re looking for additional income or your just plain interested.
PCN (Potato Cyst Nematodes) are the big baddies of potatoes, and can ruin the yield of your crop.
Soil testing lets you spot any hotspots early, leaving you free to wrestle them into submission.
Less complicated than it sounds.
We can provide variable rate mapping for nitrogen, seed, key nutrients and lime, allowing you to reduce inputs and maximise productivity by giving your soil and your crops only what they need.
